Diana Bjorkman Wade - Lawrence, KS
Dad and Tucker
Linda Keith (Vallone) Hadden - Fleming Island, FL
I knew the Bjorkman family since Jr. High school, when Russ' Mom worked at the school and everyone call her Mrs. "Ba-jork-man"! Russell and I became close friends in high school; he picked me up for school each morning; we lamented over boyfriend/girlfriend problems. When he met Pam....BAM! he was over the moon in love. Years later after we all married; Pam & I were pregnant at the same time. Even though I had moved out of Miami with my husband we kept in close touch. Russell, Jr was born March 23,1974 & my twin boys were born April 23, 1974. I remember the contraption Russell constructed in his back yard for his son to practice baseball! I remember Russ' throaty chuckle! His "walk" and the love and pride he had for his family. Pam, Russell and Diana, God Bless You and may your happy memories sustain you and lighten your load.

Diana - We were all sad to hear about your father. At the opening ceremony of the TEXPERS Summer Forum Dwight Walker (Retired board member from Dallas Police & Fire Retirement System and former TEXPERS President) who gave the invocation acknowledged Russell's passing during the prayers. There was no recording of the ceremonies. There were over 300 TEXPERS members in attendance during the opening ceremonies. We share your loss and I will share your thoughts with the TEXPERS Board members.

Pam and Family, I am so sorry for your loss, words are so hard for people at this time, I lost Jim three years ago. It is hard but you have a good family. God be with you and yours.

We only knew Russ from his career on the Miami Fire Dept. What a truly dedicated FIREMAN. He was a great mentor to who ever asked or needed assistance. Whether it was fire related, personal, or financial advice. He watched over our pension system when we needed it most. He will be truly missed by all who met him. God bless you and your family.

Pam, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Russell. I don't know if you would remember me, I went to school with Russell. He brought you over to my house I think a few times. It was a long time ago. I recently thought about him, {our reunion is coming up}, we always had fun in high school. Sorry we lost touch. He was a great guy. My love and wishes to your family.
